Cost Accountant

Job Description
- Perform monthly and ongoing price variance analysis.
- Review capitalized variance and adjustments monthly.
- Analyze quarterly standard cost change.
- Review routings and burden rate annually.
- Perform material cost analysis as needed, including freight rate calculations.
- Monitor moving average pricing for select locations.
- Periodically Update Overhead and Surcharge percentages for select items and locations.
- Participate in project actual to budget analysis as needed.
- Work with various locations for inventory valuation.
- Must be able to interface with various levels of personnel within the company.
- Must be able to work independently and work well in a team environment as necessary.
- Prepare and check monthly general ledger journal entries as needed.
- Assist in the monthly accounting close processes if needed.
- Provide executive management team with cost reports and ad hoc analysis.
- Understand and stay current with cost accounting best practices.
- Support internal audits, SOX, JSOX compliance processes.
- Provide inventory reports as required.
Job Requirements
- Manufacturing company experience is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of progressively responsible cost accounting experience.
- SAP experience is strongly preferred.
