Electrical Controls Engineer

Job Description
We are currently searching for an Electrical Engineer for our customer in the Columbus, OH area. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Designing, developing, and detailing electrical control systems, including panels, components, devices, and machinery for material handling systems. Applying knowledge of engineering principles to design products, including involvement in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of material handling system components.
- Electrical control system design and detailing using AutoCAD
- Wiring diagrams, control panels, and electrical device layouts
- HMI design for material handling systems
- Perform calculations, including power distribution, and cycle time
- Assist in commissioning PLC logic and HMI screens in shop trials and field environment
- Assist in debugging field wiring issues with electricians
- Must be able to climb ladders and scaffoldings and be physically capable of sitting, standing and/or walking for long periods of time
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and departments as needed
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D software is required. AutoCAD 3D software or similar is a plus
- Knowledge of industrial control systems
- Experience with PLC programming (ControlLogix, Mitsubishi, Omron, GE, Siemens)
- Experience with HMI screen design such as GE, Panelview, PROFACE
- Knowledge of electrical wiring troubleshooting
- Knowledge of electrical standards (National Electric Code, ANSI, OSHA) is a plus
- Familiar with electrical codes, including NEC, NFPA 79, and UL 508A is a plus
Education and Experience
- BS in Electrical Engineering preferred with 1+ years' experience
- Controls engineering experience preferred

Brad is a founding partner and President of M-Team Solutions, responsible for recruiting, business development, human resources, and financial operations. Prior to his current role, Brad spent 30 years building and leading sales and recruiting teams in the engineering, manufacturing, IT, and business operations fields.
Brad spent the first ten years of his career at one of the largest staffing companies in the world, where he progressed to become one of the top producers. He worked 14 years at an engineering staffing & recruiting startup as a Recruiter, Sales Executive, and Division Vice President. Brad then spent 18 months in IT and SaaS sales consulting before accepting the position of Vice President of Business Development at Magnum Consulting, a sister company to M-Team Solutions. In addition to his responsibilities with M-Team, Mr. Smiles also manages new business development at Magnum Consulting, a conveyor, tooling, material handling, and structural steel engineering and design consulting company.
Mr. Smiles received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Management from Albion College where he played four years of varsity football and was twice selected All-Conference; Brad also received a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Oakland University.
Brad and his wife Patty live in Oxford, Michigan, with their two daughters, Abby and Becca. Brad enjoys golfing, weightlifting, reading non-fiction books, travel, and family genealogy research.
