Sales Engineer - Material Handling

Job Description

We are currently searching for a Sales Engineer with material handling, conveyor systems, tooling, or mechanical equipment experience to work with our customer in the Lexington, KY area. This is a direct hire opportunity, and you will be working a hybrid remote schedule from your home office in the Lexington area and onsite at the customer manufacturing facility.    
  • Responsible for establishing and identifying accounts, concepts, and material handling systems. Must work with estimating to develop pricing and proposals and negotiate contracts. Must be a highly motivated self-starter 
  • Determine customer needs and critique proposed material handling systems to determine the likelihood of the customer purchasing.
  • Meet with customers, review job sites, occasional limited climbing.
  • Develop close customer relationships with Key decision makers in purchasing, engineering, and at the plant levels.

Other responsibilities

  • Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. Provides product, service, or equipment, technical, and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel.
  • Submits orders by conferring with technical support staff; costing engineering changes.
  • Develops customer's staff by providing technical information and training.
  • Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
  • Confer with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements 
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support 
  • Secure and renew orders and arrange delivery 
  • Plan and modify products to meet customer needs 
  • Help clients solve problems with installed equipment, work with installation department. 
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective customers
  • Prepare schedules, charts, and support installations. 
  • Confer with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements
  • Help in researching and developing new products
  • Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, showing how changes will lower costs or increase production 

Job Requirements

  • Effective communication skills, good with people, self-motivated, detailed oriented,
  • Experienced in engineering, design, installation, and commissioning of material handling, robotics, or conveyor systems.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1-5+ years’ experience in engineering with interest in sales and account management

Working within a dual role as Marketing Manager and Technical Recruiter at M-Team Solutions, Bryce Watts deploys marketing campaigns that drive qualified candidates to apply to our client’s open positions. Bryce lives in Davison, Michigan, with his wife Kaelee, and dog Kessel. Outside of work, Bryce loves working out at the Davison Athletic Club, playing volleyball with his wife, and researching all things blockchain-related.
