Technical Sales Engineer

Job Description

We are currently searching for a Technical Sales Engineer for our customer in Novi, MI.  This is a direct hire opportunity.  
 
The Technical Sales Engineer will direct sales and account management activities and coordinate product market intelligence within assigned region/territory.  They will promote, prioritize, and negotiate profitable business growth with new and existing customers.  They will coordinate and analyze customer forecasts and reporting requirements monthly and support portfolio development, market trends, and cost reduction initiatives for next-gen products to long-term sustainability.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan, prioritize, and manage sales efforts to build RFQ pipeline and awards to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales growth initiatives.
• Lead sales activities within assigned region/territory to achieve the committed net new business objective utilizing a strategy-to-win approach.
• Obtain customer intelligence to adjust order and revenue forecasts, flex sales strategy to meet corporate objectives, identify risks and opportunities, and clarify major market trends.
• Coordinate technical roadmap reviews and create sales opportunities with a consistent brand management plan.
• Develop penetration plans for new customers in the territory.
• Sell and establish relationships with engineering and purchasing departments to expand sales volume with existing and new customers.
• Identify opportunities within the product line portfolio to include: modules and digital clusters, ADAS / infotainment / cameras, antennas, harness, and newly-emerging markets.
• Conduct market analysis in the assigned region/territory and independently create product line strategies to maximize content per vehicle.
• Work directly with customer Engineering to identify product and system level interconnect solutions.
• Able to travel up to 50%.
 
 

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS
• Technical degree highly preferred.
• At least 5 years of automotive and APQP/PPAP experience required.
• Interconnect, and/or automotive component experience preferred.
• Proactive and self-motivated; able to work remotely with minimal guidance and oversight.
• New business negotiation skills are a must!
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and overall project management; exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Brad is a founding partner and President of M-Team Solutions, responsible for recruiting, business development, human resources, and financial operations. Prior to his current role, Brad spent 30 years building and leading sales and recruiting teams in the engineering, manufacturing, IT, and business operations fields.

Brad spent the first ten years of his career at one of the largest staffing companies in the world, where he progressed to become one of the top producers, winning six straight sales contests. He worked 14 years at an engineering staffing & recruiting startup as a Recruiter, Sales Executive, Manager, and Division Vice President. Brad then spent 18 months in IT and SaaS sales consulting before accepting the position of Vice President of Business Development at Magnum Consulting, a sister company to M-Team Solutions.

In addition to his responsibilities with M-Team, Mr. Smiles also manages new business development and account management at Magnum Consulting, a conveyor, tooling, material handling, and structural steel engineering and design consulting company.

Mr. Smiles received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Management from Albion College where he played four years of varsity football and was twice selected All-Conference; Brad also received a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Oakland University.

Brad and his wife Patty live in Oxford, Michigan, with their two daughters, Abby and Becca, as well as their dog, Pumpkin. Brad also enjoys golfing, weightlifting, reading non-fiction books, travel, and family genealogy research.
